Making Thousands In The New York Stock Exchange - Hidden Ground Breaking Rules

March 10th, 2007

I’d start with defining your portfolio objectives. These objectives will have a great impact on your style of trading in the New York Stock Exchange. Ask yourself a few questions, such as these, to find your objectives.

* Do you want to trade part-time or full-time?
* How much money do you have to work with?
* What annual rate of return do you want?
* Are you creating a trading system using the New York Stock Exchange for cash flow or capital growth?

Once you’ve set your objectives, you should select a certain stocks to trade with in the New York Stock Exchange. It’s a good idea to avoid the tendency to trade any and all stocks. Many traders fall into the trap of thinking that the more stocks they trade on the New York Stock Exchange, the more money they will make. Unfortunately, this is not true. You need to master and learn about the characteristics of certain stocks that you will consistently trade with in the New York Stock Exchange. Did you know that some of the most successful stock traders only trade using certain stocks? This fact is the key to making real money.

With your objectives and the certain stocks picks you have in mind, the time has come to design your trading plan - your set defined rules you’ll use while trading into the New York Stock Exchange. A well-thought-out trading plan defines your approach to trading in the New York Stock Exchange. Also, a properly constructed trading system for entering and exiting the New York Stock Exchange, leaves no room for human judgment. It should be able to respond to any set of circumstances that arise with clear actions.

The importance of this kind of trading plan - your set defined rules for tradng in the New York Stock Exchange, cannot be overstated. Without a consistent set of guiding principles to govern their trading decisions in the New York Stock Exchange, most traders hop from one trade to the next, driven by emotion or hysteria. When you don’t have a plan, you plan to fail.

Try and keep your system simple. Many traders complicate their trading systems with out even trying. They accomplished this by over-optimizing. So many indicators are added to their system that it becomes nearly impossible to trade. Instead, keep your system as simple as possible. This way, it is robust enough to trade across many market conditions.

Once you’ve designed your system follow it perfectly. This requires a great deal of self-disciple, but bear in mind that your will be rewarded with success. Either undisciplined behaviour or ignorance will be punished by the market in the end, coming by way of direct losses or by the loss of profits, you could have made. However, the market is complex, and does not always act as you might expect. There is a principle of random reinforcement that you might encounter. The New York Stock Exchange has a tendency to reward bad behaviour from time to time. This tendency is one of the reasons why it often takes so long to learn how to trade. Keep these principles in mind so that you will not be surprised, but remember there is no point in having a system if you are not going to follow it.

When you are ready to trade, in the New York Stock Exchange, start small. Give your confidence time to grow, and give yourself time learn the intricacies of your system, and your stock picks. There is always a learning curve when you begin trading in the New York Stock Exchange. It makes sense to take the time to learn the ins and outs of the New York Stock Exchange before you start adding more positions.

Now that you’ve started trading, in the New York Stock Exchange, I have one last, crucial piece of advice for you. Follow this rule when you’re trading in the New York Stock Exchange. Despite the fact, everyone knows the old adage of “cut losses short and let profits run”; many traders fail to do this. Have strategies built into your system to ensure that these rules are followed. Adages only become old when they have proven to be effective.

I could go into much more detail on many of these points, but this is only a broad overview of the steps you need to take when you begin trading in the New York Stock Exchange. With commitment, discipline, and careful consideration, soon you will be well on your way to being a successful New York Stock Exchange trader.]]>

Manganese 101

March 9th, 2007

In terms of physical health, the mineral manganese is important to almost all of the body’s major systems. It works in the digestive system which is responsible for breaking down foods through digestion and transforming them into a form that the body can use. The primary function of manganese in the digestive system is acting as a cofactor in many of the enzymes responsible for releasing the energy in food making it accessible to both body and mind to fuel the essential and nonessential functions. This essential mineral is also needed to metabolize Thiamin Vitamin B1. The skeletal system requires manganese for the building of strong and healthy bones. Without it, the skeleton may not develop properly. Manganese also supports good muscular reflexes. It also serves the reproductive system having an important role in the production of sex hormones and sperm.

Manganese has vital antioxidant properties working as a cofactor in the production of the body’s most important antioxidant enzyme: the superoxide dismutase. Antioxidants perform a task that is essential to the body. It controls or stabilizes free radicals which are responsible for a great deal of damage within the body. Free radicals are destabilized by their lack of an electron and in seeking to stabilize themselves they assault other molecules in an effort to take what they need from them which then results in those molecules becoming destabilized as well. Accumulation of free radicals is dangerous for if it reaches a certain number cellular damage can occur thus leading to tissue damage. And as the free radicals roam, their population also up in number.

Manganese is also essential for the brain to function properly. It supports the nerves and also promotes memory and emotional stability. Researchers are studying the relationship between epilepsy and other seizure disorders and the influence manganese levels may have on seizure activity and severity. This mineral is also being investigated for its potentials in the treatment of severe mental disorders such as schizophrenia. If proven positive, this could be a big breakthrough is the field of medical science.

Deficiencies in manganese can contribute to convulsions, confusion, tremors, dizziness, paralysis, deafness and blindness in infants, adult hearing loss, digestive disorders, ataxia, bone malformation, general weakness, infertility, irregular pulse, and pancreatic damage.

Nutritional supplements offer a reliable and safe means of seeing to it that the diet contains adequate amounts of this essential trace mineral provided supplement dosage remains within the standard recommended daily intake levels. Too much of any nutrient can do physical harm to the body and thus it is important to be knowledgeable about the nutritional needs of your body and the supplement you are considering for use. It is therefore important to consult a doctor to avoid over dosage. Consultation with a licensed nutritionalist is also essential to aid you in planning a daily diet that can supplement the much needed healthy daily dosage of manganese.]]>

Marigolds Just Might Save Your Sight — and Your Skin and Heart Too

March 8th, 2007

People shouldn’t rush out and start eating floral bouquets. But there is an important biochemical quality within this plant that nutritional and medical science is now harnessing after years of research.

A marigold flower contains abundant amounts of a valuable antioxidant compound called lutein (LOO-teen). The lutein, contained within the flower’s petals, is extracted and purified through a patented process and formulated into a natural, crystalline lutein extract ingredient under the name FloraGLO. It then is added to an array of foods and dietary supplements from multivitamins to fruit and vegetable juices. This lutein ingredient is chemically identical to the lutein found not only in marigolds, but in egg yolks, and spinach, kale and other green leafy vegetables.

The problem is that people generally don’t eat nearly enough vegetables or eggs to realize the health benefits of lutein. And those benefits are proving to be extremely important.

Science has shown that lutein is a primary component of the macula, an area within the retina in the human eye. This macular lutein may protect eyes from some of the damaging effects of the sun by filtering blue light. Healthy lutein levels also help counteract the gradual deterioration of the macula from aging. Such damage to the macula can result in the onset of AMD, or age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause of vision loss in western populations.

Because the human body does not naturally manufacture lutein, people must rely on lutein-rich foods or lutein supplements to maintain optimal levels of lutein in the eye. A 1994 Harvard University study showed six milligrams of lutein, equal to about one-third cup of cooked spinach, is likely to be a beneficial daily amount in reducing the risk of AMD. If you’re not going to get that amount daily, it won’t hurt to add a multivitamin that includes lutein, says Robert Abel, M.D., a leading ophthalmologist practicing in Wilmington, Del., and an advisory board member of the Lutein Information Bureau.

More grocery products are also adding lutein as a featured ingredient. “I’m very encouraged to see more foods and beverages fortified with lutein becoming available to people who want nutritious foods that contribute to overall eye health,” said Abel, who also authored the book “The Eye Care Revolution: Prevent and Reverse Common Vision Problems.”

More recent studies such as those published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and a report called the Beaver Dam Eye Study indicate the protective qualities of lutein may also play a role in reducing the risk of cataracts. But while healthy eyes have it, lutein is also found in the skin, brain, cervix, breast and blood serum.

Lutein’s antioxidant qualities may help promote healthy skin during sun exposure, whether lutein is consumed in the diet or applied to the skin through a growing number of personal care products containing supplemental FloraGLO Lutein.

And in cardiovascular health, a University of Southern California/UCLA study summarized in the journal “Circulation” showed lutein may be connected with the progression of atherosclerosis, the accumulation of fatty plaque inside artery walls, causing vessel walls to become thick and hardened. One of the study’s outcomes showed arterial wall thickening was 80 percent higher in those individuals with the lowest blood serum lutein levels versus those with the highest lutein levels.

So whether through vegetables, supplements, fortified foods or skin care products, the health story on lutein is opening to a full bloom. For more information, contact the Lutein Information Bureau at www.luteininfo.com.

Menopause and Mood Swings

March 5th, 2007

Menopause and mood swings work together because changes in hormonal levels (most notably, progesterone and estrogen levels) take place. For one, hormone levels may affect the level of serotonin (the ¨emotional chemical¨) in the brain, causing depressive symptoms. Women often times feel insecure and irrelevant about themselves and their current roles, contributing more to feelings of worthlessness.

Other factors that trigger mood swings in menopause sufferers are the symptoms they face. Tinnitus (whooshing and ringing sensations in the ear due to nerve damage as a result of aging & hearing loss), incontinence (abnormal bladder behavior), and hot flashes also add on to the overall crankiness a menopausal woman can face. And of course, low levels of serotonin, and lack of progesterone production that relieve stress levels, can lead to the sudden onset of crying – a definite disadvantage to any woman under this condition.

Mood swings can be drastically reduced by following a course of action such as a weekly exercise regimen. Exercise, specifically meditation and yoga, has been proven to relieve mood swings. Besides, it is the ultimate anti-aging activity – women who exercise well into their sixties report looking and feeling younger. Another objective is to have a steady social support group to turn to. Menopause sufferers will find soothing words by their family and friends a positive contributor to their overall well-being.

The third course of action is to follow the right diet. Caffeine loaded drinks like coffee and soda will not work for you: it will only excite you leading to restless sleep making you cranky throughout the night. Drink certain teas that increase serotonin levels in the brain, like passionflower and chamomile, will also relax and provide for blissful sleep.

Grab the milk bottle in the refrigerator and warm it up – tryptophan, a component found in warm milk, is known to increase serotonin in the brain as well. A multivitamin and mineral supplement may also help load your body with the right nutrients, balancing things out. So, avoid menopause mayhem and eliminate mood swings and the sudden onset of crying by following the above advice – feel refreshed mentally and emotionally for a better day.]]>

Money Management 101

March 4th, 2007

After all, money makes the world go ‘round, so make sure you get your share! And the good news is: it’s as easy as controlling what you’ve got!

Here’s what you need to make sure that you have control over your financial situation. Here are some valuable budgeting techniques to guide you in your expenses and income.

The first thing you want to do is make sure that you pay for your utilities on time and in full every month. Don’t wait until it’s too late to pay them. The second thing you need to do is make sure that you don’t have too many credit cards. Only a few credit cards are necessary to get by in life. You should consider cutting up the rest of them. And the third thing you should do you, if your bills have gotten the best of you, is to consolidate them into a single loan. This will enable you to pay them off over time without getting slammed with high interest rates.

Finally, establish a budget for yourself. This seems difficult and that’s why most people don’t do it. And because people don’t have a budget they find themselves in financial straits.

The easiest way to establish a budget is to take a draw a line down the middle of a piece of paper. On the left, write down your after tax household income. Be sure to write down the after tax amount as you want to measure available income only. After all, you don’t get to spend the before tax amount, right?

In the right column, list an average of each monthly bill. But you should also include your typical spending habits as well, like eating out, or impulse shopping. Don’t forget to include paying off your credit card as part of the bills!

Now that you have a list of income and expenses, see if there’s a way to increase your income, or reduce your expenses. Usually you’ll find a way to do a little to both.

While it seems so simplistic, so few people do it. And yet, creating a budget and sticking to it often separates the successful people from everyone else. What’s stopping you from doing it right now?]]>

More Vitamins and Minerals Needed for Hair Growth

March 3rd, 2007

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is responsible for the development of healthy collagen, which is necessary to hold body tissues together. A vitamin C deficiency can cause split ends and hair breakage, yet this is easily reversible with an increase to normal vitamin C levels. Vitamin C can be found in foods such as fresh peppers, citrus fruits, melons berries, potatoes, tomatoes, and dark green leafy vegetables.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is necessary to provide good blood circulation to the scalp by increasing the uptake of oxygen. Vitamin E is derived from foods such as green leafy vegetables, nuts, grains, vegetable oils, and most ready-to-eat cereals, which are fortified with vitamin E. Vitamin E deficiencies are rare in people in North America and Europe.

Copper

Copper is a trace mineral that is also necessary in the production of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is vital to the process of carrying oxygen to tissues and to the hair follicle. Good sources of copper are liver, seafood, nuts, and seeds.

Iron

Another key mineral vital in the production of hemoglobin is iron. Iron is found in two forms, heme and non-heme; heme iron is much easier to absorb into the system. Of course most people know that red meat is a good source of iron, however red meat is non-heme iron and is difficult for the body to absorb, as are many iron supplements.

Good heme iron sources are green leafy vegetables, kidney beans, and bran. Also, one can increase the absorption of non-heme iron into the body by consuming non-heme food sources and vitamin C sources in the same meal.

Zinc

Zinc is another vital component of healthy hair. Zinc is responsible for cell production, tissue growth and repair, and the maintenance of the oil-secreting glands of the scalp. It also plays a large role in protein synthesis and collagen formation. For this reason, zinc is important for both hair maintenance and dandruff prevention.

Most Americans are deficient in zinc. Most foods of animal origin, particularly seafood, contain good amounts of zinc; oysters are particularly rich in zinc. Zinc is also found in eggs and milk, although in much smaller amounts. Zinc from sources such as nuts, legumes, and natural grains differ from than those found in animal sources and are not easily used by the body. Oats are a good source of zinc, which is readily absorbed by the body.

If you take antacid for heartburn you lower your ability to digest and absorb vitamin C and iron. As you make your stomach acid more alkaline, with antacids, your ability to absorb vitamin C and iron decrease.]]>

Mortgages – Get Fixed Up Before The Crash

March 1st, 2007

It has been recorded that house prices have been dropping drastically over the last three years. With the effects being disastrous, more and more people are finding themselves in negative equity. The nightmare that happened during the 1980s seems to be resurfacing in the present day.

So what is negative equity? Negative equity is when the value of your house is less than your mortgage. Each month you will be paying interest on a loan that is more than the value of your house. This will make it impossible to sell, as you will owe the building society more money than what the house is worth.

The causes of negative equity can be high house prices or interest rates, or even a mixture of the both. When these variables are high, more people are priced out of the housing market. This causes the demand for housing to drop, which subsequently brings down house prices. Owners who bought at the high end of the market during the peak of the boom will suffer the most.

There is a rule of thumb used to see if houses are overpriced. Prof Oswald says the ratio of average earnings to house prices should be no more than 1:4. In the case of three years ago, when the average earnings were £25,000, the average home should have been around £100,000. This was not the case, where it was reported that the average house price was around £122,000.

As already mentioned, Britain has experienced negative equity before. It happened in the 1980s when there was a similarly strong house price boom. It was caused by the government ending dual tax relief, which enables both parties in a couple to each claim back tax. As the dual tax relief was coming to an end, there was a sudden rush for houses, which caused the prices to rocket. The mortgages themselves also became more and more expensive as interest rates rose through the roof.

Then came the disastrous property crash, which affected around 1.8million homeowners, plunging them into negative equity. It lasted over 4 years, with 1991 being the worst year as over 75,000 houses were repossessed. Interest rates were rising uncontrollably, making houses unaffordable. It became a deadly circle.

One of the main reasons so many people were affected was that very few had fixed rate mortgage. This is where interest rates on your mortgage are fixed for a given period, which doesn’t change even though the market interest rates might. This can save you from hitting hard times during periods of high interest rates. However, if the market happens to turn and interest rates fall, you will end up paying more than the going rates.

With the signs there for another property crash, it is a great time to shop around for the best fixed rate mortgage. It’s best to get one with a low interest rate and a long term fixed position (2 -3 years). Without one, you are in serious danger of paying high interest rates, causing you to fall behind with payments. If this happens, it could seriously harm your credit rating.

With a bad credit rating, many mortgage lenders will not touch you. The only option is to go to an adverse credit mortgage lender. An adverse credit lender is one that offers mortgages for people with bad credit ratings. This can be costly, as your monthly payments will be quite high with this type of loan.

During these times of high interest rates, many people will look towards debt consolidation to get rid of their debts. This sounds like a great idea to get rid of those sleepless nights from concern about money problems, but is debt consolidation as good as it seems?

The idea of debt consolidation is to give the borrower a loan with a lower interest rate, which can be paid back over a longer time period. This loan is then used to clear up all your existing debts. Even though the interest rates are low, you will still end up paying more money than you would have if you sorted out the individual debts yourself. Also, lots of companies charge service rates, which can become quite costly. You should be aware of the risk before you consider taking up a debt consolidation loan.

We are entering a time where the housing market is at a low. People need to be very careful during this period, and must take precautions so as not to be seriously affected. There are lots of options out there, as well as companies that can advise you on the best course of action. Remember to shop around for the best fixed rate mortgage; lots of companies now do them. If you find yourself in a debt related problem, you can get help from the National Debtline or the Citizen Advice Bureau.]]>
